EmpowerMe Living has partnered with the First Place Global Leadership Institute’s Make Waves Center for Community Development to launch a comprehensive housing market analysis designed to capture the housing needs and preferences for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the greater Cincinnati area.

The Need

Adults with autism and/or other intellectual/developmental disabilities (A/I/DD) face a critical shortage of housing options and access to supports they need to thrive. To drive future planning, funding and advancements in public policy, EmpowerMe Living is conducting a comprehensive housing market analysis of needs and preferences in greater Cincinnati.

In advance of identifying needs and preferences, EmpowerMe Living will be hosting Watch Parties to request input from and inform stakeholders with A/I/DD and their family members/guardians of available housing and service delivery options.

The Purpose

  1. Collect Data: Determine what individuals need and want.

  2. Identify Barriers: Identify barriers to meeting demand.

  3. Work Together: Enlist input from local leaders with a vested interest in meeting the unique needs of special populations. Demonstrate how the public, private, nonprofit and philanthropic sectors can work together to mitigate displacement or homelessness.
